NAVER LABS AIRCART

VLND designed AIRCART, an electric trolley that makes it easy and safe for anyone to carry heavy objects with the power of electric motors. Easy physical human-robot interaction is applied to alleviate labor difficulties in everyday spaces, so anyone can use it intuitively without having to learn how to operate it. It is used in factories, warehouses, and huge bookstores.

HUMAN POWER AMPLIFICATION

AIRCART is an electric trolley that allows anyone to easily carry heavy loads with intuitive physical human-robot interaction technology. It was named "AIR"CART because the motor automatically increases its power giving the impression that the cart is gliding, even when carrying heavy objects. Two load cell sensors mounted on the handle that recognize the direction of user's intent, and add force in the direction. So control is intuitive and simple from the start. The force is strong enough to allow anyone to carry a load of 100Kg and climb a slope easily. It can be used in large bookstores and factories.





DIAGONAL LINE,
CONNECTING TWO KEY FEATURES: THE HANDLE AND WHEELS

The handle using load cell sensors and the motor wheels, which play a key role, have been metaphorically connected by diagonal line. VLND pursued a more stable and robust design to match the essence of the product. The straight lines with refined curves create more unique, modern aesthetic.







MINIMIZE BLIND SPOT

VLND minimized the front blind spot by removing the front edge that blocks the field of view. Users can easily detect if there is enough space in front of the cart to prevent collision. This unique design achieves excellent usability and safety at the same time.








AUTOMATIC BRAKE FOR SAFETY

Equipped with an automatic braking system, accidents are prevented when going up or down a slope. It also works even when carrying heavy objects.








AIRCART controls the movement in real time by measuring the pushing force and direction from the sensors inside the handle. It provides a powerful function that allows people to carry heavy loads easily, but does not require any learning. 








INTUITIVE INTERFACE

Its intuitive usability can greatly help people's workforce. Anyone can easily use it without having to learn how to operate it.








VLND designed the loading shelves to tilt inward to prevent the books from falling.








The color of the front light changes according to the current status. Users can check the operating status at a glance.
